Weight Loss Percentage Calculator

✦ Wellness with Emily · Free tool

Weight Loss Percentage Calculator

See how your weight has changed since you started, understand the percentage, and track progress toward an optional personal goal — without turning normal fluctuations into a verdict.

Calculate your progress

Enter your starting and current weights. Your goal is optional, and the calculator also works when your weight hasn’t changed or has increased.

The date matters only if you save this reading. You can save past dates, not future ones. Your measurements stay on this device.

Your weight change

Your result will appear here after you enter your weights. It will show percentage change, the difference in kg or lb, and optional goal progress.

Save readings to build a private trend chart and review your percentage change over time. No account required; data stays in this browser when storage is available.

Save at least two readings to see a weight trend.

A kinder way to track progress

One reading is not the whole story.

Weight naturally changes across days because of hydration, digestion, salt intake, medication, and other factors. A longer-term trend is often more informative than a single morning weigh-in.

  • Percentage change makes the difference relative to your own starting point.
  • Goal completion measures progress toward a goal you enter; it does not judge whether that goal is healthy.
  • Saved readings help you notice trends rather than interpreting daily fluctuations as success or failure.
What does 5% mean?

Health context, not a universal target.

For some adults living with overweight or obesity, losing about 5% to 10% of starting body weight can improve health measures such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and triglycerides. The benefits and appropriate goals differ by person.

This tool does not know your medical history or whether losing weight is advisable. It deliberately avoids awarding “health achievement” badges just because a number reaches a certain percentage.

If your weight is changing unexpectedly, you’ve experienced rapid weight loss, or you aren’t sure whether a weight goal is appropriate, discuss it with a qualified healthcare professional.
