About
About Wellness with Emily
Hi, I’m Emily Carter — and I know what it feels like to try everything
and still feel stuck.
I spent years cycling through diets, cutting out entire food groups,
dragging myself to the gym when I had no energy, and wondering why nothing
seemed to work the way the magazines promised it would.
What finally changed things for me wasn’t a new diet or a harder workout
routine. It was understanding how weight loss actually works — the biology,
the hormones, the psychology, and the real reason so many approaches fail
despite genuine effort.
That’s what Wellness with Emily is about.
NOT another diet blog.
This isn’t a place where I tell you to cut out carbs forever, drink
detox teas, or survive on 1,200 calories. I don’t believe in suffering
your way to a smaller body — and the research doesn’t support it anyway.
What I do believe in: understanding your body, working with it instead
of against it, and building habits that are sustainable because they
actually fit your real life.
Every article on this blog is written with one goal: to give you the
honest, evidence-based information that most weight loss content doesn’t.
What you’ll find here:
— The science behind why weight loss works (and why it sometimes doesn’t)
— Honest breakdowns of every major diet approach — what works, for whom,
and why
— Practical strategies for real situations — busy schedules, health
conditions, tight budgets, and everything in between
— Answers to the food questions everyone argues about (is bread really
bad? what about bananas?)
— Guides for losing weight at every age and with every health condition
No fads. No miracle supplements. No before-and-after photos that don’t
tell the whole story.
Just honest, practical, science-backed information — written the way I
wish someone had written it for me when I was starting out.
A note on health information
I’m not a doctor or registered dietitian. Everything on this site is
based on published research, expert consensus, and practical experience
— but it’s not medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider
before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine,
especially if you have an existing health condition.
